Night colors ....

A building I get to see everyday when I am in Geneva. It is specially  appealing at night with all the colors. I love the conceptual garden surrounding the premises, with artificial fog coming among the concept-trees every now and then. A brilliant design

Lenz & Staeheli Building, Amandolier, Geneva

Lights and Shadows... see hereunder for more details:

Study about lights and shadows. I wasn't in the mood for night outdoors photography, so there was no other solution than being creative at home. Daily objects can be transformed into highly interesting photography subjects. For this picture I used a zoom-in technique during 2.5 sec. exposure to give the impression of movement of the object itself and its shadows. Edited with Nik filters in Photoshop to give an ancient camera look and to add a bit more drama to it. Comments are welcomed!

Canon 5dMarkIII, Canon lense 24-105mm, from 24 to 105mm in one shot, f/13, ISO 100, speed: long exposure: 2.5 sec.

My night search for a photogenic object was rewarded with this splendid reflections on Geneva's Marina or club Nautique as they call it over here.  It was again pitch dark, but long exposures make miracles :)

New Holland Island was created in 1719. After the Russian Revolution its buildings fell into neglect, Here photographed at sunset at about 22h30 hours, still the White Nights period. It has a nostalgic and derelict touch. This grand entrance is not grand anymore, but a stop for tourists boats surfing the channels of Saint Petersburg.

Technical data: Canon 5dMark III, Lenses: Canon TS 17mm, long exposure (4 seconds), f/8 ISO 100, 17mm, tripod, post production with Lightroom and Photoshop
