Colourful Geneva
After 10 years living in this city, there is always something to catch the eye. This colourful construction is used as a community center in one of Geneva's neighbourhoods. Today is was host to a Tamil party. Built in 2016 and brilliantly designed by CLR Architectes (Geneva).

Portrait of Beatriz, a Spanish expat in Geneva. It was great fun photo shooting in our improvised photo studio. This is a quite retouched version of the original business portrait I delivered. Got carried away and tried to get the closest result to a magazine cover portrait and discovered on the way new Photoshop features. What do you think? Comments are welcome!

When I realised my camera didn't have a card, it was already 23h45. One has to be creative, and quick. The only thing at hand was my very old and not at all sophisticated smartphone and I had to find something with loads of light... a design shop in the Quartier des Eaux-Vives, Geneva

All those greens!
I haven't retouched the colors at all, they are like this for real. ROLEX Headquarters in Geneva. I got chased by a guardian who wanted to have my ID card, so I went away quickly. One never knows what an overzealous guard can do. It added a bit of excitement to the picture.

Life in Geneva's Council Houses
Council Houses can be very cozy and well designed. I went to this aerea attracted by this gigantic cubes (there are many of those buildings together) and discovered a recently created council state in Geneva's suburbs. It looks like an enormous LEGO :)
Canon 5DmarkIII, Lense: Canon Tilt& Shift 17mm, F/8. speed: 1/160, ISO: 100, handheld, since I wanted to be discrete by using no tripod, but I guess I didn't go unnoticed

My favorite staircase in Geneva, revisited
Spiral staircases have something very appealing This one is located in a car park, very ugly from the outside, but beautiful inside. I had already photographed this staircase last year, but there are always new angles or lights to explore.

Sexy architecture by Heinz Isler
My Sunday early morning shooting proved to be very fruitful. Around an idustrial area with interesting colours and shapes, I had another go at this beautiful pavillion by Swiss Architect Heinz Isler. Architecture from 1968, the simplicity of the curve.

Through the night...
Empty Geneva streets at night have a special mystery and quiteness. This picture was taken around midnight, I stopped for a little while in front of the Musée d Art et d'Histoire only interrupted by the occasional car or passer by.

Night colors ....
A building I get to see everyday when I am in Geneva. It is specially appealing at night with all the colors. I love the conceptual garden surrounding the premises, with artificial fog coming among the concept-trees every now and then. A brilliant design

Lights and Shadows... see hereunder for more details:
Study about lights and shadows. I wasn't in the mood for night outdoors photography, so there was no other solution than being creative at home. Daily objects can be transformed into highly interesting photography subjects. For this picture I used a zoom-in technique during 2.5 sec. exposure to give the impression of movement of the object itself and its shadows. Edited with Nik filters in Photoshop to give an ancient camera look and to add a bit more drama to it. Comments are welcomed!
Canon 5dMarkIII, Canon lense 24-105mm, from 24 to 105mm in one shot, f/13, ISO 100, speed: long exposure: 2.5 sec.

Construction sites can be beautiful... in Bellevue-Geneva
Today an unexpected professional photo shooting on the shores of Lake Geneva, in a beautiful villa under construction in Bellevue. Construction sites can be also sexy. I was blessed with a beautiful end-of-sommer light. Loads of editing with photoshop for this picture due to the strong light difference inside and outside

Geneva's landmarks:BMF
Since 1883 the Power Plant Building is one of Geneva's highlights. Today a theatre, this amazing venue is a former hydro power plant called Usine des Forces Motrices. It is positioned near the point where the river Rhone flows out of Leman Lake.
I was strolling there on this very sunny summer morning, nobody on sight except for the swan and some petty drug dealers who seem to love this place and its surroundings. I was very tempted to portrait them as well, since they had interestig features.

Pink! Saturday night lights
Le Bain Bleu, a new icon in Geneva's architecture, is a Spa designed by Swiss Architecture firm GM. Today looking totally pink, fairy tale like. As I was waiting the end of a series of long exposures (30 seconds each) I saw all party goers passing by straight to Les Voiles open air bar. Unfortunately I left my stilettos at home, so I wasn't able to enter the venue with my tennis shoes - dress code required!

Night reflections...
This post is dedicated to my lovely niece who is celebrating today her 18th birthday.
My night search for a photogenic object was rewarded with this splendid reflections on Geneva's Marina or club Nautique as they call it over here. It was again pitch dark, but long exposures make miracles :)
